Jen Peterson, 32, Bismarck, ND, passed from this life on September 18, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Friday, September 25, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with Chaplain David Johnson officiating. Burial will be held at 3:00 pm Friday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.Family will greet visitors one hour prior to the service at Parkway Funeral Service.Jen was born June 26, 1983, in Bismarck, ND, the daughter of Mary and the late Larry Roth. She was raised on a dairy farm north of Elgin, ND, and graduated from Elgin-New Leipzig High School. In 2001, Jen was united in marriage to her loving husband, Eric Peterson. Jen graduated from Bismarck State College with an Associate in Applied Science in Commercial Art. She received an award of excellence from the Photographer's Forum Magazine and was a finalist in the 25th Annual College Photography Contest. She was on BSC's Presidential Honor Roll, nominated for the National Dean's List and achieved membership in the Phi Theta Kappa Society, which gave her the opportunity to travel to South Africa and meet Nelson Mandela.Jen worked at the PFO in Bismarck as a mobilization/financial contract employee where she assisted in the mobilization and demobilization of multiple units within the ND Army National Guard. After that she worked in the oil fields as a data analyst/field geologist.Her hobbies included travel with Eric, fishing, cooking, photography, drawing, running, taking care of her flowers, and spending time with her pets.Jen is survived by her loving husband, Eric, Bismarck; her mother, Mary (Gary), Elgin, ND; brother, Aric (Victoria and family), Steamboat, CO; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wesley and Linda Peterson, Elgin; her brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Jessica Peterson (Macy and Madelyn), Bismarck; aunt, Teresa Wagner, Amarillo, TX; and many special friends and family.She was preceded in death by her precious son, Kal-El; her father, Larry; her grandfather, Alvin; and her uncle, Jeff.
