Donald Sabot, 82, Bismarck, died September 20, 2015, at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, September 24, at Church of St. Anne, 1321 Braman Ave, Bismarck, with Rev. Wayne Sattler officiating. Burial will be held at 1:00 pm at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Wednesday, September 23, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E Divide Ave, Bismarck, where a vigil/rosary will begin at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.Donald was born October 28, 1932, in Bismarck, ND, the son of Emil and Frances (Gabel) Sabot. In July of 1953 he entered the US Army and was honorably discharged in May of 1955. Following basic training, Donald served overseas in Germany.On November 4, 1963, Donald was united in marriage to Eilene Weigel at St. John's Church in Zeeland. He farmed northeast of Bismarck for his entire life. Donald was an avid outdoorsman, and he loved farming, gardening and fixing engines. He was very proud of his family.Donald is survived by his wife, Eilene; his seven children, Annette Sabot (Kari Pearson), Denise (Dean) Roller, Joe (Colette) Sabot, Leon (Lynn) Sabot, all of Bismarck, ND, Lisa (Trent) Peterson, Sioux Falls, SD, Roland (Linda) Sabot and Dean (Jessica) Sabot, all of Bismarck; his grandchildren, Wyatt and Morgan Sabot, Luke and Layn Sabot, Cole and Lauryn Peterson, Shane and Brenna Curfman, and Hunter and Walker Sabot; one great-grandchild, Nevaeh Mees; two sisters and one brother.He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and three sisters.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
