Lyle Hetletved, 90, rural Chaseley, ND, died September 7, 2015, at Sanford Health, Bismarck. Services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, September 12, at Bethany Lutheran Church, Robinson, with Rev. Valerie Kinlan officiating. Burial will be at the Bethany Lutheran Cemetery, Robinson.Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Friday, September 11, at Eastgate Steele Memorial Chapel in Steele, ND, where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.Lyle was born on July 26, 1925, on the family farm north of Robinson, ND, to Gustav and Violet (Blake) Hetletved. He was raised on the family farm and attended eight years of school at South Merkel School. On May 25, 1946, he married Agnes Schuler of Tuttle at Steele, ND. They moved to their own farm north of Robinson in the fall of 1946. Lyle enjoyed his farming operation of raising cattle, sheep, and small grains until his retirement. Lyle was an assessor for North and South Merkel Township for several years and served on the Robinson School Board and Bethany Lutheran Church Council. Lyle loved horses and his kids have fond memories of their time spent with him on horseback or in the sleigh. Lyle was loved by his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and they will miss him a lot.Lyle is survived by his daughter, Barbara (James) Gaarder, Bismarck; two sons, Gary (Sherolyn) and Gene (Jan), all of Robinson; nine grandchildren and their spouses; 21 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandson; four sisters, Adelaide Johnson, Tuttle, Luella Wick Semmens, Woodworth, Vivian Hirchert, Titusville, FL, and Arletta Hanson, Bismarck; two sisters-in-law, Judith Hetletved and Lucille Hetletved, both of Bismarck; many nieces and nephews, and special friend Annie Hoff. He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes; his parents; two brothers, Clois and Dale; and four brothers-in-law, Edwin Johnson, Clarence Wick, Bud Semmens, and Loren Hanson.
