Tobias "Toby" Thomas Klipfel, 37, Bismarck, passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 3, 2015, at Sanford Health. A celebration of Toby's life will be held on Tuesday, September 8, at 10:30 AM at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with Deacon Terry Glatt officiating. Burial will be at the ND Veterans Cemetery. Toby was born on September 26, 1977, in Bismarck, ND, to Darrell and Konnie Klipfel. He attended Bismarck public schools and graduated from Bismarck High School in 1996. He joined the National Guard between his junior and senior years, completing his basic training the summers before and after he graduated from high school. He achieved the rank of 1st Lieutenant before he resigned. After high school, Toby attended UND and obtained a degree in secondary English education. He married Sarah Massey in 2002 and their daughter, Saige, was born in May 2003, joining her brother, Kade, whom Toby loved dearly too. Toby taught in Selfridge and Bismarck public schools. For the last several years he worked in sales. Tobias was known for his infectious smile, his mischievous laugh, and his unique sense of humor. If you weren't smiling before Toby walked into a room, you were laughing helplessly soon after he came in. Toby's biggest joy and the person he loved most in the world was his daughter, Saige. Toby will be missed deeply forever by his family and his many friends. He is survived by his daughter, Saige Klipfel; his father, Darrell (Rose) Klipfel; his mother, Konnie (Dixon) Wightman; his sister, Kimberly (Mark) Melillo; his brother, Colin (Michelle) Klipfel; his nieces, Mara and Paityn; his stepsister, Sue Eichhorn and her children, Alex and Ellie; his stepsister, Mary Bradley and her children, Macie and Burke; as well as uncles, aunts, cousins, numerous friends, and his special friend, Sarah Mohler. Memorials may be made to the Saige Klipfel College Fund at American Bank Center.
