August 18, 1925 — September 1, 2015

Elmer T. Wolf, 90, died September 1, 2015, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck. Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, September 5, 2015, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Steele, with Rev. Jake DeBoer officiating. Burial will be held at Bethany Lutheran Cemetery, Robinson.Visitation will be held from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm Friday, September 4, at the Eastgate-Steele Memorial Chapel in Steele, ND, where a prayer service will begin at 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.Elmer was born August 18, 1925, in Logan County, ND, the son of John and Emma (Oberlander) Wolf. He received his education in rural schools. Elmer married Hattie Leno on June 29, 1947, in Zion Lutheran Church south of Tuttle. To this union five children were born, Dennis (Laura) Wolf, Bismarck, Lois (Wallace) Kahler, Bozeman, MT, Marvin (Connie) Wolf, Velva, Marlyce (Bill) Kemnitz, Steele, and Glenn (Karla) Wolf, Mandan.Elmer was a member of Tuttle School Board, Tuttle Wildlife Club, President of English Lutheran Church Council Tuttle, President of the Tuttle Township Board, member of the Low Housing Board, the Tuttle Lions Club, participated in the nominating committee for the ASC resolutions committee for REA, and Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center Resident Council.Elmer farmed many years. In 1995, he retired and moved to Steele where he became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Golden Age Club, where he was president for several years and member of the Active Seniors Club.Elmer loved hunting, fishing, telling jokes and stories and making people laugh, and giving treats away; but his greatest joy was to spend time with friends and family. He especially loved his time with his children and grandchildren and loved them all dearly.Elmer is survived by his wife Hattie; their five children; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; his brothers, Clarence (Arlene) Wolf, and Albert Wolf; and his sister, Violet (Earl) Heidt.He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Emma Wolf; brothers, Harvey and Clifford; sisters, Eileen, Lorraine, and Florence; and his granddaughter, Lori Waltsak.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church, Steele.
