William Dale Vollan

William Dale Vollan, 81, Bismarck, died May 5, 2015. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am Friday, September 4, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.Bill was born February 16, 1934, the son of Albert and Elsie (Anderson) Vollan. He attended rural schools and graduated from Bismarck High School. In 1953 he joined the Army and was honorably discharged. Bill attended Bismarck Junior College and Valley City State College and became a certified teacher. He taught at Mandan, Kindred, Thief River Falls, MN, and other places around the country. Bill resided at the Patterson Place.Bill is survived by his son, Craig (Kirsten) Vollan, and two granddaughters, Ingrid and Olivia, at Lake Osewego, OR; his brothers, Ernest (Patty), Lester (Sylvia); five sisters, Pauline (Harold) Goldstein, Lila Burton, Alice (Bernard) Falkenstein, Joyce (Jim) Pierce, and Myrna Nigrin; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Eugene and wife, Lorraine, and Albert Jr. and wife Shirley; and brother-in-laws, John Burton and Gary Nigrin.
