Diane Sigl Thilmony Schlosser passed from this world on August 27, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, September 1, at Evangel Assembly of God, 3225 N 14th St, Bismarck, with Rev. Josh Skjoldal and Rev. Daniel Haveman officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm Monday, August 31, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm. Diane was born June 30, 1961, in Richardton, ND, to Ray and Dorothy (Lampl) Sigl. Diane was one of seven siblings. At an early age, Diane took on a role of cook and caregiver for her farm family. It was no wonder Diane would grow up to be a splendid cook and wonderful hostess, always serving up a generous helping of hospitality. She loved to invite friends and family to her home; it was a given, they would always leave with a full stomach and a happy heart. Diane graduated with undergraduates degrees in secondary education and business administration (Dickinson State University) and a graduate degree in business administration (University of Mary). Her advanced education was designed for one purpose: to teach children and give them the skills to be successful in life. She served as a teacher in Hazen, Beulah, and Bismarck, a transition coordinator at the Youth Correction Center, as well as a career advisor at Century High School. Her drive was relentless and always with humility. She was respected by her peers and a trustworthy mentor for her students, receiving the recognition of Bismarck Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Year in 2006. Diane had the gift to turn the ordinary into something extraordinary. This became especially evident with her students, children, and grandchildren. Diane married John Thilmony in 1984 and together they had two children, Deondra and Jordan. Aside from being a loving mother to her children, Diane's greatest joy came in being a grandma, doting on her two beautiful grandchildren. Jordan's two beautiful children were the apple of her eye. Diane married Greg Schlosser, in 2002. Together they took turns competing at being "kids at heart" with their grandchildren. Diane's faith and family were always at the top of her priorities; her acts of love and compassion towards all will be timeless. Diane's wish was to see her daughter, Deondra, wed to Corey Bruner in October; she'll be glowing with pride from Heaven. Diane was known for her compassionate heart which shone through her beautiful smile. Diane is survived by her spouse, Greg Schlosser, Mandan; her daughter, Deondra Thilmony (fiancé, Corey Bruner), Lincoln; her son, Jordan Thilmony (girlfriend, Jenny Andre), Mandan; her step daughter, Kasey Janz (Scott), Mandan; her grandchildren, Kambri Lynn Jensen, Mandan; and Ayden Cole Thilmony, Mandan; her father, Ray Sigl, Bismarck; her siblings, Ray Jr. Sigl (Carol), Richardton; Jerry Sigl (Adele), Menoken; Annette Link (Greg), Bismarck; and Julie Wetzel (Kelly), Minot. Diane was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Sigl and her two brothers, Daniel and Jim.
