Kristin Kelly Engberg, 19, Bismarck, left this earth and everyone who knew and loved her on August 26, 2015.Services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, August 31, at Legacy United Methodist Church, 4600 Durango Drive, Bismarck, with Rev. Kermit Culver officiating. Burial will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck.Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm Sunday, August 30, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.Kristin Kelly Engberg was born on March 11, 1996. She attended Prairie Rose Elementary, Wachter Middle School, and Bismarck High School, where she graduated Valedictorian in 2014. She was currently enrolled as a sophomore at Bismarck State College, where she was majoring in computer science. She was employed at the United States Geological Survey.While in school, Kristin took part in basketball and volleyball, but soon chose swimming as her sport of choice. She swam varsity for five years for Bismarck High School, and many years with the Golden Seals and Aquastorm. What she enjoyed most was the time she spent with her teammates. Kristin loved to read; she would spend hours reading her Eragon series and was so proud of those books. She loved going to concerts with her friends and especially enjoyed going to Electric Forest in Michigan this year. She talked about how fun it was and she wanted to go again. Kristin bought and was very proud of her car "Bae." It was her dream to restore it, inside and out. She enjoyed going on cruises with Bae, and just working on it with her friends.Kristin had such a fun personality and was extremely witty. Her fashion choice was tie-dye. Kristin loved her sister, Lydia, more than anything. She cherished all the time they would spend together.Kristin is survived by her father and mother, Tom and Karen and her sister, Lydia, Bismarck; her grandparents, Vernon and Shirley Potucek, Warren, MN, and Betty Engberg, Fargo. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friend, David Thomas.She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Roger Engberg; and her cousin, Ian Engberg.
