Naomi Oder, 96, Bismarck, died July 29, 2015, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, August 4, at Glencoe Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Rebecca Aardahl officiating. Burial will be held at Glencoe Cemetery.Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm Monday, August 3, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E Divide Avenue, Bismarck.Aldyth "Naomi" Oder was born October 7, 1918, in Bismarck, ND, the daughter of Bert George and Elizabeth Christine (Knudtson) Buckley. She was raised and educated in Glencoe, ND. Naomi was a beautician after completing her education at Christie Beauty School. She was also a published writer, having written, "History of Glencoe-Sloan Memorial Presbyterian Church 1885-1985" and "Glencoe Stage Run" Naomi married Myrwin Oder at the 1st Presbyterian Church in Mandan, ND, on February 29, 1956. After 37 special years together, Myrwin died in Bismarck on October 21, 1992. She thoroughly enjoyed talking on the phone, reading, writing, sewing, embroidery, playing the piano, and completing crossword puzzles. Naomi was a very active member of the Glencoe Presbyterian Church. She served many years as a Sunday school teacher. She organized a 4-H group named "Dakota Daughters," and served as its leader.Naomi is survived by her nieces, Patricia Shimek, Ann Woodland, and Judy Schnase, all of Bismarck, Louise Jacobson, Henderson, NV, Eileen Shackow, Lemmon, SD, Dolores McGarvey, Red Lodge, MT; her nephew, Russell Woodland, Walcott, ND; several great nieces and several great nephews; and many good friends.Naomi was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her sisters, Lucille Oder and Corinne Woodland; her niece, Glenda Oder and great-niece, Tonya Woodland.
