Douglas G. Krick

Douglas G. Krick, 48, Bismarck, passed away on October 7, 2015, at his home after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Monday, October 12, at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan, with Msgr. Chad Gion officiating. Burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Sunday, October 11, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a vigil will begin at 6:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Doug was born to William and Eileen Krick in Rugby, ND, on February 1, 1967. He graduated from Rugby High School and continued his education through University of Mary for human resources and business. Doug met Mariann Selzler, his best friend and soulmate, in the summer of 1982, and they were married on June 15, 1990, in Velva, ND. They had four beautiful children. Throughout high school, and beyond, Doug worked as a meat cutter, starting out at Bickelers Jack & Jill in Rugby, and moving to Kirkwood Super Valu in Bismarck. In 1994 he changed careers, starting at Bobcat, where he remained until his passing. Bobcat was his second home and family, establishing some true, lifelong friendships. Doug loved spending time with friends and family. He truly was the best dad to his four children and his extended daycare families. Doug especially had an unbreakable bond with his nephew Michael and continuing with his great- nephew Bristol, niece Kayla and great-niece Saylor. Doug is survived by his wife, Mariann; his sons, Andrew, Jamestown, and Alexander, Bismarck; daughters, Abigayle and Alizabeth, Bismarck; his parents, William and Eileen, Rugby; his brothers, Don, Glendale, AZ, and Dennis, Bismarck; and a very large extended Selzler family, whom he loved as his own, with numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Jerry, Bonnie, Tim Socha, and Bill Bechtold.
