Larry D. Solberg, 65, Bismarck, died October 16, 2015, at his home.
A memorial service will be held on Friday at 1:30 PM at Eastgate Funeral Service Chapel in Bismarck with Pastor Odea Sigh, Jr. officiating. The family invites you to join them for fellowship and refreshments ½ hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at the ND Veterans Cemetery.
Larry was born on October 17, 1949, in Mandan, ND, the son of Darry and Ava (Swanson) Solberg. He lived with his family in Montana for a while before moving back to Bismarck and graduating from Bismarck High School in 1968. He then entered the US Navy and served as a navy corpsman in the Marines, serving in Vietnam from November 1969 – November 1970. He was honorably discharged in September 1972 and received the Navy Achievement Medal. Following his discharge, he worked for the Baptist Home for five years and then for Enable for twenty years, retiring in June of 2015.
Larry enjoyed the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, and camping. He also loved spending time with his family.
Larry is survived by his children, Erick, Ava Jean, and Jon; his grandchildren, Morgan and Jett; his mother, Ava; his brother, Bob (Carol); his sister, Kae; his nephews, Marcus and Monte; and his niece, Heather.
