Rodney W. Iverson

April 7, 1945 — October 13, 2015

Rodney W. Iverson, 70, passed away on October 13, 2015, after an accident in his home in Lake Havasu City, AZ. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 23, at 11:00 at Charity Lutheran Church in Bismarck. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held at 2:00 PM at the ND Veterans Cemetery in Mandan. Rod was born in Kenmare, ND, on April 7, 1945, to Ingvard and Esther Iverson. He initially attended country school and later transferred to Kenmare High School graduating in 1963. After attending Whapeton School of Science, he served his country by joining the Air Force. Upon completing his military service, Rod returned home and shortly thereafter met his sweetheart for life, Linda Wittmayer. They spent 45 years together investing nearly 30 of those years proudly farming. Rod and Linda later moved to Bismarck where Rod appreciated his years working as a hot shot driver for Petroleum Services Inc. In recent years, Rod and Linda were able to winter in Lake Havasu City, AZ, enjoying time together with family and friends. Rod shared a special love with his wife Linda, who has always said he was the only guy for her. He felt blessed to have had his two daughters, three grandchildren, and son-in-law in his life. He made friends wherever he went with buddies from coffee groups, motorcycle outings, golfing, and fishing. He treasured his friendships, old and new. He was a guy who loved action and was always out and about with a cheerful greeting and time for people. Rod also cherished his Wittmayer family of brothers, Larry and Richard, and sisters, Diane and Joanne, along with their families. He was a hard-working, honest person who was a good example of someone who put as much joy in living as he could. His wonderful laugh, twinkling eyes, and big hugs will be missed dearly. Among the many that will miss Rod are his wife, Linda; daughter, Lori and her children, McKayla, Koltyn, and Kaedyn; daughter, Rhonda and husband, Corey; brother, Larry and wife, Marlyss and family; brother, Richard and Rhonda and family; sister, Diane and husband, Joe; and sister, Joanne and husband, Steve. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. - See more at: http://www.eastgatefuneral.com/obituary/Rodney-W.-Iverson/Lake-Havasu-City-AZ/1552798#sthash.ojOMDrO3.dpuf
