Caroline Pechtl, 80, died October 23, 2015, at a Bismarck Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, October 27, at Church of St. Anne, 1321 Braman Ave, Bismarck, with Rev. Wayne Sattler officiating.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm – 9:00 pm Monday, October 26, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E Divide Ave, Bismarck, where a vigil/rosary will begin at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Caroline was born March 28, 1935, the daughter of John and Pauline (Steckler) Barth. She was united in marriage to Edward Pechtl on January 18, 1955 in Richardton, North Dakota. They lived in Seattle, WA, before returning to Lefor, ND, where they farmed and ranched for many years.
Caroline enjoyed crafting, gardening, bingo and playing cards. She was a die-hard fan of the Minnesota Twins, NDSU Bison and Green Bay Packers. She belonged to the Lefor Christian Mothers Society, helped alongside Ed at many Knights of Columbus functions, and helped manage the Lefor K of C Club.
She is survived by her husband, Edward, Bismarck; her daughters, Kathy (Pat) Mangan, Bismarck, Cindy (Fran) Martin, Lefor, ND, Jean Pechtl, Rapid City, SD; and her son, Wayne, Bismarck; her three grandchildren, Kayla Mangan, Jenna and Evan Betlaf; her sisters, Lucille Wendt and Lorraine Thompson; her brothers, John (Edith) Barth, Vince (Rita) Barth and Gerald Barth; her sisters-in-law, Rosie Barth and Cecelia Barth; her brothers-in-law, Harvey (Pauline) Pechtl and Robert (Jeanette) Pechtl. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Larry and Robert; her sister, Bernice; and her nephew, Michael Meyer.
