Marty was born in the Bismarck hospital on January 23, 1925, to John and Lydia (Hietzman) Martin. After spending her school years in Bismarck, Marty graduated from Bismarck High School in 1943. Marty then went on to work at the State Health Department for the Sanitary Engineers. She also volunteered as a candy striper at St. Alexius Medical Center for 30 years.
In May 1946 she met the love of her life Robert “Bob” Mooney. They were married August 30, 1947. From this union came two children, Bob Jr. and Karen Kramer.
Marty is survived by her sister, Dororthy Kopp; her son, Bob Jr.; her daughter, Karen; six grandchildren, Matthew (Tammie) Mooney, Heather (Dan) Churchill, Bridget Mooney, Michael Mooney, Jason (Heather) Kramer, and Kari (Rob) Ramsdell; fourteen great-grandchildren, Casey, Sunni, Chloe, Avery Mooney, JD, Olivia, Sophia, Joey and Lucy Churchill, Isabella and Braden Mooney, Tyler Kramer, Chandler and Carley Ramsdell; and many nieces and nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lydia; her beloved husband, Bob; her six siblings, Emil, Ray, Viola, Alice, Esther, and Lynn.
Marty would want Betty Mohler to be thanked for all her great years of playing bridge (55 years) and all the driving her around and taking her places when she was no longer able; to Mac and Kay McDonald for the 80+ years of a great friendship; and to the "GANG" for all the wonderful times they had playing bingo and meeting every Monday.
Also thanks to Jana and Jason Heen and the kids for the endless pleasure my folks got out of seeing the kids grow and play in the yard and all the help with the yard and house, especially towards the end; and to Sue and Mike Zimmerman, for keeping an eye on her and feeding her when I was unable to get there anymore.
Marty had lots of friends and family that loved her and will miss her and they all had a special place in her heart.
