Dennis “Luke” James Gleich, 59, Baldwin, ND, passed away unexpectedly at his home on November 7, 2015. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, November 11, at Church of St. Anne, 1321 Braman Ave, Bismarck. Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm Tuesday, November 10, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a vigil/rosary will begin at 7:00 pm. Cremation will take place following visitation on Tuesday evening. Dennis was born February 7, 1956, in Bismarck, ND, the son of Tony and Mary Lou (Lacey) Gleich. He was raised in Bismarck and Baldwin and graduated from Bismarck High School in 1974. He went on to work for Cenex and then ICI for over thirty years until he recently retired in May 2015. He married Linda Sadowsky on September 29, 1978, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, New Hradec. They moved to the farm in Baldwin in 1983 and raised four children. Luke loved rodeo, softball, hunting, fishing and riding horse with his friends and family. He had the best sense of humor. He loved telling stories and reliving the “good old days.” He was a true Vikings fan even through their “tough” franchise history. Luke loved his family and devoted his life to teaching his children. He was known for his patience and kind heart. He always said, “I taught you everything you know, not everything I know.” He spent his short-lived retirement on the farm with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Dennis is survived by his wife, Linda, Baldwin; his four children, Becky Geiger, Lincoln, ND, Amy (Jesse) Rust, Wilton, ND, James, Wilton, ND, and Matthew, Baldwin, ND; his grandchildren, Ashlyn and Taeghan Rittenbach, Vann and Lainn Geiger, and Stella and Ellie Rust; his parents, Tony and Mary, Baldwin; his brothers, Donny (Sandy), Dave (Tammy), Pat, Danny (Laura), all of Bismarck; his sister, Kathy (John) Clausen, Wilton; brothers-in-law, Dennis (Cathy) Sadowsky, FL, Bill (Nancy) Sadowsky, Bottineau, and Marv Sadowsky, Mandan; sisters-in-law, Marilyn (Brian) Mertz and Paulette (Dean) Kerzmann, all of Bismarck; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Tom; son-in-law, Matt Geiger; grandparents, John and Mary Gleich and Earl and Louise Lacey; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Pauline Sadowsky; and special friends, Mark “Peabody” Stolz, Daryl “Butch” Fricke, Merlin “Bum” Buchman, Norvel Schuler and John Clausen Sr.
