Virginia (Ginny) Brigl, Bismarck, 85, passed away peacefully November 16, 2015, at CHI St. Alexius Health, Bismarck.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 noon, Friday, November 20, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bismarck, with Monsignor Gene Lindemann officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 19, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a vigil service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the church.
Ginny was born on March 2, 1930, in Bismarck, the daughter of Nicholas and Anna Martin. She was raised and attended school in Bismarck and graduated from St. Mary’s High School. Ginny married her soul mate, Julius Brigl, on October 16, 1948. They shared 67 beautiful years of marriage together.
Ginny lived a full life and was filled with love and gratitude for God, her husband, family and friends. Ginny was proud to be a stay-at-home mom, was involved in teaching CCD classes and singing in the church choir. More recently she enjoyed going to the Target café on a regular basis. She made many good friends there and enjoyed visiting with kids, grandkids, and great grandkids as they would always stop by! She was also an avid Bobcat Hockey fan and seldom missed a game.
Ginny is survived by her loving husband, Julius; her children, Audrey (Monty) Zins, Eagan, MN; Jim (Jim Lindsay) Brigl, Silver Spring, MD; Jody (Elroy) Huber, Bismarck; Birdie (Wade) Kincaid, Mandan; Thom (Brenda) Brigl, Eagan, MN; Carrie (Steve) Bye, Maple Grove, MN; and Barb (Jeff) McConnell, Bismarck. She also leaves 19 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; sister, Rose Schaefer, Everett WA; brother, John Martin, Sacramento CA; sister-in-law, Marie Albrecht, Bismarck; many nieces and nephews, and special friend and cousin, Frances Thomas.
Ginny was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, four sisters, and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to St. Mary’s Catholic Grade School in Bismarck.
