Leonard L. Olson, 83, Regan, died November 22, 2015, at the Baptist Health Care Center, Bismarck.
Services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, November 25, at Sunne Lutheran Church, Wilton, with Rev. Paul Schauer officiating.
Burial will be at Baldwin Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm Tuesday, November 24, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a prayer service will begin at 5:45 pm. Cremation has taken place.
Leonard LeRoy Olson was born January 28, 1932, in Wilton, ND, the son of Emil and Marie (Selahn) Olson. He grew up on the family farm south of Regan and attended country school. On June 1, 1956, he married Marlys Christiansen in Bismarck. Leonard enlisted in the US Army in July 1956 and served in Germany as a medic. He was honorably discharged in July 1958.
The family made their home in Bismarck where he was employed with a Mandan implement dealership delivering farm equipment before they moved to Menoken and later to McKenzie where he worked for those respected city’s grain elevators.
In 1969, Leonard and his family moved to Regan where he was employed with the Regan elevator. He also worked as a school bus driver and served on the Wilton Fire Department. Leonard also enjoyed gardening, playing cards with family and friends, and a good cup of coffee, which he could drink gallons of.
He is survived by his sons, Paul (Carla), Bismarck, Loren (Tami), Bismarck, James (Karla), Athol, ID, and Mark (Tina) Fargo; his grandchildren, Tanya (Clay) Brosz, Lance, Kayla (Marshall) Corbin, Lacey (Ryan) Pfleger, Paul Jr. (Brooke), Aundrea (Jaco) Van Rooyen, Erica (fiancé, Cole Schill), Morgan, and Jordon Olson; his great-grandchildren, Brayden, Mckenna, Lily, Charlie, Jaxsyn, Asher, Gavyn, Aunzel, Hudson, and Beckett; and his brothers, Henry Olson and Gerald (Sue) Olson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlys; his parents; and his brother, Lloyd.
