Margery L. Ertresvaag, 94, Bismarck, died November 23, 2015, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, November 27, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with Rev. Jim Zotalis officiating.
Burial will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, November 27, at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Cremation has taken place.
Margery was born July 18, 1921, in Minot, ND; the daughter of Alfred and Mary (Parsons) Unwin. She grew up in Minot where she attended schools and Minot State College. She married Rolf W. Ertresvaag on July 27, 1942, in Boise, ID. They lived at various Air Force bases while Rolf was in the military. Upon Rolf’s retirement from the U.S. Airforce, they moved to Bismarck in 1967. Margery was a member of St. George’s Episcopal Church and enjoyed bowling, Bridge, and reading library books. She was a class-act who appreciated her friends and family and always showed an interest in her grandchildren’s activities. Although time has passed, and she was not as physically capable as she once was, Margery continued to be a woman of strength and dignity.
Margery is survived by her daughter, Ingrid Ertresvaag, Bismarck; her sons, James (Patti) Ertresvaag, Bismarck, Christopher Ertresvaag and Susan, San Angelo, TX; her daughter-in-law, Nancy Ertresvaag, Boca Raton, FL; her grandchildren, Scott Ertresvaag, Suzy Wallace, Heidi Shipp, Kathleen Hunt, Eric Ertresvaag, Marie Jewell, and Michael Ertresvaag; and 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Merry Kaastad and Beverlee Darrow; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rolf; her son, Rolf Jr.“Jigger”; three sisters and five brothers.
