Julia (Reis) Roehrich joined her beloved husband November 30, 2015.
Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 5, 2015, at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, 210 5th Ave NW, Mandan, with Rev. Michael Harbor officiating. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Friday, December 4, 2015, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a vigil/rosary will begin at 7:00 pm.
Julia was born to Peter and Elizabeth (Uhrich) Reis October 19, 1925, in McIntosh County. She was raised and educated in Braddock, ND. She was united in marriage to Joseph Roehrich June 3, 1946. They made their home in Braddock moving to Fargo, McKenzie, Fort Rice before settling in Menoken in 1959. Joe and Julie moved to Bismarck in 1973, where Julia was employed at Missouri Slope Livestock Auction then for Krolls Kitchen in Bismarck and later at Little Cottage Café. In 1979, Joe and Julia moved to Aurora, CO. Julia moved back to Bismarck in 2000 to be closer to family. On September 1, 2015, she moved to Capital City Care Home where she resided until her death.
Julia will be remembered for being a hard worker. She loved her joy of cooking, canning, sewing, dancing and gardening, and was not afraid to critique your work, if it was not up to her standards. She also loved helping the less fortunate.
She is survived by her children, four sons, Joseph Jr. (Dale), Gackle, ND, Frank (Dorcus), Wiggins, CO, Pius (Esther), and Julius (Bev), both of Menoken; two daughters, Alyce (Conrad) Cichos, Watkins, CO, and Jossene (Vincent) Sitar, Rathdrum, ID; foster daughter, Judy Miller, Mandan; 33 grandchildren and at last count, 81 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; her parents; two brothers, Peter Reis and Pius Reis; one sister, Clara Moran; two grandsons, Martin and Leonard; one great-granddaughter and two great-grandsons.
