Ilo was born July 19, 1932, in Hume Township, Slope County, ND, the fourth of seven children born to John and Lula (Pulvermacher) Flyberg. She grew up on the family farm and attended school near Chalky Butte Township and New England Public High School. In 1950, Ilo wed Harold T. Wolff, whom she lost due to an unfortunate accident. On January 7, 1956, she married John C. Wolff and shared 56 loving years.
Ilo and John moved to various states while John worked construction. In 1961 they decided to move back, to the family farm south of Regent where they farmed and ranched, raising their family until retiring to Mandan in 2005.
The most important aspect of Ilo’s life included her immediate (her 6 chicks), and extended family. She and John loved to travel together on their little escapades, in which he drove but she was the navigator.
Holding a special place in her heart are her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved gardening, music, dancing, bird watching, quilting, painting, reading, and cooking specialties.
Thankful to have shared her life are her children, Kathy Schaner, Green Valley, AZ, Evelyn (Dr. Brad) Angelos, Sikeston, MO, Cynthia (Wayne) Koltes, Hettinger, Doug Wolff, Mandan, Mavis Strand, Bismarck, and Wesley Wolff, Regent; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sisters, Gladys Goudy, Lucille Austin, and Betty Miller; her brothers, Ralph (Bernie) Flyberg, Melvin (Marcella) Flyberg, and Dale Flyberg.
Ilo was preceded in death by her husbands, John and Harold; her parents, John and Lula Flyberg; and her brother, Lester.
Memorials may be given to Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
