Gregory P Doucette passed away peacefully in the early hours of Wednesday, December 16, 2015, with his family by his side. A memorial gathering will be held Sunday, December 20th from 1-3:00pm, at 107 E. Owens Ave, Bismarck.
Greg was born in Oak Park, IL, and graduated from Hobart Senior High School, in Hobart IN. He graduated from Michigan Tech in 1975 with an associate’s degree in civil engineering. After starting a family, Greg moved to Dexter, MI, where he was a long time resident. Greg moved to Bismarck, ND in 2011 for his work as an architect.
Greg was a loving father who was dedicated to supporting his family. He worked in architecture for more than 30 years, specializing in the planning, design, and construction of health care facilities. Greg always strove to find joy in what he did and is remembered as a kind, hard working, and quiet colleague and mentor.
Greg was always enthusiastically up for anything his daughters wanted to do with him. He was also a life-long, passionate Packer fan, talented foosball player, and a lover of playing softball.
Greg is survived by his daughters: Porscha Doucette and her husband Joshua Doucette of Moab, UT, and Cynthia Doucette of Denver, CO. He is also survived by his siblings: Laura Aldridge of Ishpeming, MI, Alan Doucette of Naperville, IL, Elaine Doucette of Sheboygan, WI, Joan Hoffman of Calumet, MI, Linda Magni of Duluth, MI, and Janette Polkinghorn of Hancock, MI.
The family would like to thank Sanford Care Center of Bismarck for their tender care and kindness. Memorials may be given to the Sanford Transplant Center of Bismarck or the Bismarck Cancer Center.
