Robert "Gramps" Bibb, 81, Bismarck, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family on December 19, 2015, after battling a long illness. He was a husband, dad, daddy, grandpa and great-grandpa.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Tuesday, December 22, at Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck.
Robert was born in Lovingston, VA, on May 18, 1934. He was the son of Elmo and Betty Bibb. In his early years he worked in a drugstore to help provide for his family. At the age of 17 Robert went into electrical line construction as a groundman and worked his way up to superintendent. He had many hobbies including hunting, fishing, pinochle, and spending time with his family.
On August 11, 1956, Robert married Edith Blevins in Arlington, VA. They were blessed with five children. The family moved to Bismarck, ND in 1974 where he continued his electrical line work until 1996. Robert was an IBEW Union member for 45 years and a lifetime member of the Elks Club.
Gramps is survived by his wife Edith of 59 years. His children, Debbie (Dave) Bishop, Gainesville, TX, Patrice (Rick Kringstad) Bibb, Bismarck, ND, Denise (Mike) Keller, Bismarck, ND, and Cindy (Dave) Antil, Colorado Springs, CO. His sister, Ruby Shelton of Lovingston, VA. His grandchildren, Shannon (Dwayne) Feist, Lindsey Keller, Meghan (Kyle) Hanson, Ryan (Janeen) Antil, Tyler (Christy) Antil, Craig Stamaris, Stacey (Tony) Baskerville, Amanda Bibb, Ariel (Eric) Mack, and Alex Bibb. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren, Gianna, Aubrey, Anthony, Jayce, David, Cadence, Kenidy, London, Tenly, Brooklyn, and one on the way; and many nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings and his son Robert Bibb, Jr.
Robert's family would like to thank Sanford Hospital, Home Health and Hospice for their care and support during his long illness.
Gramps was very loved and will be missed by all.
