Helen Pfaff

Helen Pfaff, 96, Bismarck, died December 21, 2015, at the Good Samaritan Society, Bismarck. Services will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, December 26, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with Rev. Merle Hoots officiating. Burial will be held at Lincoln Valley Cemetery, rural Denhoff, ND. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am – 10:30 am Saturday at Parkway Funeral Service. Helen was born July 20, 1919, on the family farm near Lincoln Valley, ND, the daughter of John and Lucy (Delk) Seibel. She grew up on the farm and attended country school near Lincoln Valley. Helen married Otto Pfaff on May 20, 1944, and to this union their four children were born. Otto passed away on December 7, 2000. Helen lived on the Pfaff farm until 2008, when she moved to the Watford Community and then to Good Samaritan Nursing Home in July of 2011, and where she was currently residing. Helen was always a member of the North American Baptist Churches. In her early years she was a member of Lincoln Valley Baptist Church and then in later years, a member of the Anamoose Baptist Community Church. She taught Sunday School and was a member of Ladies Aid for years. She also sang with quartets and trios and was a member of German Singers from the McClusky area. Helen was a lifetime member of the Twilight Circle Homemaker’s for over 50 years. She went on several trips with Homemaker’s including to the Bahamas. Helen liked to be outdoors and taking care of the yard, raking and mowing, and her yard always looked well-groomed. Helen was a homemaker her whole life and enjoyed cooking and baking. She loved to collect recipes and collected many. Helen loved to read and knew her Bible well. When her sister, Martha passed away, she took care of her children, Roger and Jerry Froelich, for a number of years. Helen is survived by her four children, Judith (Duncan) Osborne, Terry (Elaine) Pfaff, Bryan (Linda) Pfaff, and Marlow (Nancy) Pfaff. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Shawn (Marisol) Pfaff, John (Rebekah) Pfaff, Jason (Ginny) Pfaff, Melissa (Sonny) Ronde, Jarvis Pfaff, Katie Sue (Jesse) Pfaff, Dakota Pfaff, and Cheyenne Osborne; six great-grandsons, Marshall and Hunter Ronde, Preston Hoffman, and Jake, Joe and Josh Pfaff; and her sister, Mary Hornbacher. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto; her parents, John and Lucy Seibel; her siblings, Henry Seibel, Alfred Seibel, Martha Froelich, Augusta Wahl, Edwin Seibel, Ernest Seibel, Elmer Seibel, Frieda Wanner, Tillie Yarbrough, Viola Castellano, John Seibel, and Joe Seibel. Blessed be the memory of Helen “Great Nana” Pfaff.
