Phyllis Garman, 100, Bismarck, died December 22, 2015, at the Baptist Health Care Center, Bismarck.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, December 29, at Church of St. Mary, Bismarck, with Rev. Msgr. Gene Lindemann officiating.
Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm Monday, December 28, at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a vigil/rosary will begin at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Phyllis was born October 1, 1915, in Hazelton, ND, the daughter of Alex and Catherine (Feist) Neigum. She was raised and educated in the Hazelton/St. Michael’s area. Phyllis married John Garman on March 31, 1939, at Hazelton and the couple farmed in the Hazelton/Braddock area. The family moved to Bismarck in 1956, where Phyllis worked at Capital Laundry and enjoyed doing volunteer work. She loved cooking and baking and was a member of St. Mary’s Church.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Phillip Garman, Bismarck; her daughters, Christine (Fred) Swanson, Bismarck, and Arlene (Allan) Johnson, Mandan; her daughter-in-law, Adel Garman, WA; her 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; her brother, Alex (Carol) Neigum, WA; her sisters, Rose Feist, Bismarck, Catherine Schmidt, Bismarck, Elizabeth Keller, WA, Ann Schmidt,WA, and Frances Gustafson, WA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her son, John; her brothers, John, Pete, Frank, and Baby Joe; and her sisters, Caroline, Madeline, and Agnes.
