James "Jim" Leo Johnson

James Leo "Jim" Johnson, Miles City, MT, died on December 24, 2015, in Bismarck, ND, at the age of 68. A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 11:30 AM at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. Burial will be held at 2:00 PM at the ND Veterans Cemetery. Jim was born on October 2, 1947, to John and Dolores Johnson. He graduated from high school in Ada, MN, and went on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics at Moorhead State University. Jim served in the Army, during which time he served in Vietnam. He spent most of his career working in the pipeline industry as a right-of-way agent. Jim was once married to Dee Balentine and together they had three daughters. He loved sports and spent many Saturdays watching college football. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings and Twins fan. Jim is survived by his daughters, Kara Steier (Myron), of Baldwin, Kim Rosencrans (Reed), and Kelli Seideman (Loyd) of Minot. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jordan, Hannah, Abbigale, Paige, Leah, and Braylee, all of Minot; his brothers, Mark (Elizabeth) and Ron (Laura); and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a baby sister. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to your local VFW Club.
