Edwin was born September 13, 1930, to Frank and Edna Johnson and grew up in the Kintyre area. He and Donna LaBrant were married on December 10, 1960. For 55 years, he never forgot their anniversary or how many years they had been married. He was never big on celebrating, but every year he would draw a cartoon on the calendar to mark the date.
He farmed his entire life and the great love of his life was the farm near Braddock that he and his father purchased together. He raised cattle and sheep and loved watching the calves and lambs at play. When he became unable to walk around the farm, he rode his four-wheeler all over. He was especially fond of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved giving them rides, whether pulling them around the house in a box or on a rug or on his four-wheeler.
Edwin is survived by his wife, Donna, Braddock; his daughters, Bonnie Johnson, Braddock, LeAnn (Duane) Irish, Jamestown, Nancy (Daniel) Aho, Wahpeton, and Brenda (David) Luna, Wahpeton; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; his sister, Bernice Seppanen; and his brother, Melvin Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dallas; infant daughter, Carla; brother, Willard Johnson; sister, Alice Henricks; and his parents.
