Bruce Merkel

Bruce W. Merkel, “B.O.” to his friends, died January 11, 2016, at Sanford Health, Bismarck. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with Rev. Les Wolfgram officiating. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Bruce graduated from Bismarck High School in 1971. After that he went on to Wahpeton State School of Science and became a diesel mechanic and also studied radiology. Bruce was so proud to join the Dakota Riders in 1985 and retired from there in 2015, because of health problems. He enjoyed being with his brothers and friends on the many bike trips they took. His last job was working with Night Life, driving truck to all the different party functions around the state. Bruce is survived by his sister, Linda; his father, Herman; his biking brothers; and special friend, Fubar and his family.
