Ann was born on May 6, 1923, to Walter and Margaret Goodman in Bantry, ND. She married Robert W. Stephan on April 4, 1947 in Upham, ND. After Bob was discharged from the military, they moved to Bismarck where they raised their four children.
Ann was a special friend, aunt, grandma, wife and; especially, a loving mother. She was a wonderful homemaker. She was good with a hammer. She re-upholstered many couches and chairs. She was also the undefeated “nail driving” champion at the Sanborn, ND, 4th of July celebrations. Her and Bob loved to bowl and host Bridge parties. She loved playing cards and games and was also known to head to the Casinos once and awhile. She was known for her hospitality, never wanting anyone to go away hungry.
She was an active member at Trinity Lutheran Church. She served in different capacities and sang in the Messiah as a part of the choir for many years. She lived on her own after Bob passed away in 1993. Approximately 3 years ago, she moved to St. Gabriel’s Benedictine Community where she was well loved, known for her good sense of humor and well-cared for.
Ann will be deeply missed by her sons, Dave (Nancy) Stephan of Detroit Lakes, MN, and Dean (Kim) Stephan of Venice, FL, Jeff (Rhonda) Stephan of Grand Forks, ND; and her daughter, Marybeth (Tony) Storey of Bismarck, ND; as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her twin brother, Eddie, and three other brothers, Alex, George and John Paul.
