Wally E. Siegel, 59, of Bismarck, passed away on February 1, 2016, at Sanford Health in Bismarck with his loving wife, Barb, by his side.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 6, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.
Wally was born on July 21, 1956. He was raised in Mandan and graduated from Mandan High School. He was blessed with two sons, Jesse and Jason, whom he loved very much.
Wally and Barb (Holzer) were married on August 15, 1997, in Bismarck, after dating for 11 years.
Wally was involved with trucking all of his working years. He started with Cloverdale, then drove for his father’s company and, in the early 1980s, became the proud owner of W.E. Siegel Trucking, Inc.
Wally lived life with enthusiasm and passion. His youth found him snowmobiling, hunting and fishing, boating, skiing, and racing cars. All the way to the end, Wally enjoyed riding motorcycle, traveling which included his “bucket list trip” to Alaska, spending time with family and friends, playing Hello Kitty with his granddaughter Koral, spending time with his cats Scooter and Bella, and playing cards.
Wally is survived by his wife, Barb; his two sons, Jesse and Jason; his granddaughter, Koral; his sisters, Linda Weixel, Ellen Gustin, Cathy (Dennis) Kessel, Betty (Monte) Myers; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Al and Lou Holzer; his brother-in-law, Jerry (Kathy) Holzer; his sister-in-law, Audrey (Clyde) Hardesty; many nieces and nephews; and the best friends anyone could ever hope to have.
Wally was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Helen Siegel; a sister, Diane; and three brothers-in-law, Rick, Steve, and Bob.
The family wishes to thank Dr. John Reynolds (Sanford Oncology) for his tremendous help and support; the staff of Sanford Oncology; Karmen Steffen (Sanford Rehabilitation Center); the Sanford Infusion staff; Dr. Dufan (Bismarck Cancer Center); and Kat (Sanford 7th floor Oncology). Without all of you, this journey would have been much more difficult.
Wally, you were taken from us way too early. But the memories we have will remain in our hearts forever.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Central Dakota Humane Society of Mandan.
