Vivian Kershaw, 98, Bismarck, formerly of Menoken, died February 14, 2016, at Sanford Health, Bismarck.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, February 18, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with Rev. David Reiter officiating. Burial will be held at Menoken Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Wednesday, February 17, at Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck, and will continue one hour prior to the service.
Vivian Elaine Larson was born July 10, 1917, in Bismarck, to Henry and Florence Larson. She was raised in the McKenzie and Sterling areas, and graduated from Jamestown Business College. Vivian married Arthur Kershaw on October 25, 1941, north of McKenzie at her family home. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bismarck, the Moose Club, and the Eagles. Vivian worked for many years for Burleigh County in the Treasurer’s and Auditor’s office and retired as deputy auditor.
Vivian enjoyed her retirement with Art, socializing with friends and participating in family activities. She moved to Bismarck and spent time at the Senior Center playing cards, her favorite pastime. In 2011 she moved to Edgewood Vista Village.
Vivian will be greatly missed by those who survive her, her two sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Sharon Kershaw, Menoken, and Duane and Sandi Kershaw, McKenzie; her three grandsons, Brian (Tracy), William (Karen), and Shawn (Teresa); her granddaughters, Jodi (Mitchell) Driscoll, and Jayme Kershaw; her six great-granddaughters and five great-grandsons; and many good friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; her parents; and a very special aunt, Bessie Wildfang.
