Thomas R. Marcis, Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 – 8:00 PM at Eastgate Funeral Service in Bismarck and will continue on Monday one hour prior to the service at the church. Irene was born on April 18, 1936, in Hazelton, ND, the daughter of Albert and Hilda (Renz) Schiermeister. As an infant, her birth mother died and her father later married her mother, Esther Ochsner. Irene was raised on the family farm near Hazelton where she attended school. Irene worked at Lucas Department Store in the cafeteria. She married Marl Zeller on September 4, 1955, in Bismarck. They lived in Bismarck where Irene raised her family and continued working as a waitress at the Eagle’s Club, the Moose, and the VFW. She was a warm-hearted lady who loved the most important job in the world; being a mother and grandmother. Her generosity and unconditional love was extended to her friends and God’s creatures, especially the dogs that migrated to her open arms. Her church was also very important to her. She was the best cook and baker, and her family knew it. Irene is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Rusty) Zeller-Humann of Washburn, ND, Marla (Jim) Nelson of Henderson, CO, Barb Jones of Siren, WI, and Sheri (Dan) Richter of Bismarck, ND; her son, Perry Zeller of Bismarck; sixteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Sylvia Delzer of Bismarck; and one brother, Lee Schiermeister of Bismarck. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marl in 1995; her parents; her brother, Wayne; and her sister, Betty.
