Grace Ann Brown, 71, Menoken, ND, passed away on February 16, 2016, at her home.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 26, at 1:00 pm at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. Larry Jahnke of New Song Church will be officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Menoken Cemetery.
Grace was born December 22, 1944 in Bismarck, ND, to Ruth (Will) and Irving Funston. She graduated from Bismarck High School. Grace was married to Charles H. Goehring and out of that union they had three children, Douglas, Stacy, and Angela.
Grace was actively involved in Farmers Union and 4H early on. She worked various jobs including sewing for Fastenal and secretarial work for Lindsay Appraisal Service.
Grace enjoyed sewing, painting, and wedding decorating. She was quite a seamstress and sewed beautiful wedding gowns for her daughter and daughter-in-law as well as her granddaughter’s baptismal gown. She learned embroidery on her sewing machine and enjoyed making quilts for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a passion for baking and an art for making delicious pies. Grace had a deep faith in the Lord with much knowledge in the scriptures. She showed great compassion and kindness to others, above all things her greatest love was for her family. Grace will be deeply missed by all.
Grace is survived by her second husband, Thomas E. Brown, of Menoken, ND; her sisters, Leitha (Leroy) Geist, Glasgow, MT, Judy Beck, Fargo, and Helen Funston, Bismarck; her children, Douglas (Annette) Goehring, Bismarck, Stacy (Tammy) Goehring, Menoken, Angela (Micheal) Vincent, Bismarck, and Tom’s children, Tim Brown, Patty (Jerry) Brogden, and Tammy (Tracy) Inman, all from Wyoming; her grandchildren, Kacie (Steve) Iglehart, Dustin (Kayla), Clinton, Zachery, Tyler, Savanna, Vanessa, Cody and Lane; her great-grandchildren, Isabel, Brody, Allie, Wyatt, Marley, and Garrett; as well as her nieces, Cheryl, Karen, and Robin.
Grace is preceded in death by her parents, Irving and Ruth; her brother, Donald; her daughter, Betty Ann that died at birth; and Tom’s son, Ty Brown.
