Kathleen M. Thomas

Kathleen Thomas, 74, Bismarck, died March 2, 2016. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Monday, March 7, at Church of the Ascension, 1825 S 3rd St., Bismarck, with Rev. Msgr. Jim Braaten officiating. Burial will be held at the Mandan Union Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm Sunday, March 6, at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a vigil service will begin at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Kathleen “Kathy” M. Thomas was born March 24, 1941, in Fairview, MT, the daughter of Russell and Bertha (Specht) Conner. She grew up and attended school in Dodge, ND, graduating from Dodge High School. She moved to Bismarck and began working at St. Alexius Hospital. On September 16, 1961, she married Clemence Thomas in Dodge, ND. The couple made their home and raised their family in Bismarck. Kathy worked at Bismarck Hospital and Q & R Clinic for almost 30 years. Kathy enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren’s activities, crocheting, and playing Farkel. Kathy is survived by her husband, Clem, Bismarck; her three children, Doug Thomas, Bismarck, Connie (Perry) Baesler, Maple Grove, MN, and Donna (Kent) Mowder, Bismarck; seven grandchildren, Matt (Dawn) Thomas, Jake and Shea Thomas, Shane and Corey Baesler, Miranda (T.J.) Swisher, and Tyler (Jamie) Mowder; three great-grandchildren, McKenzie Swisher, Caleb Swisher, and Khrissi Cooper; her brothers, Jerome (Chery), Hazen, and Kurt (Lisa), Bismarck; her sisters, Shirley (Calvin) Wallin, Pequot Lakes, MN, and Glenda Conner, Bismarck. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Fred, Viril, Richard, and Roger; and her beloved dog, Beau.
