Pearl M. Wahl, 93, Bismarck, died March 3, 2016, at Sanford Health.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Parkway Funeral Service Chapel, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with Chaplain Dan Sweeney officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Bismarck.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pearl Schacher was born on September 21, 1922, the daughter of William and Pauline (Werner) Schacher. She was raised on a farm near Denhoff, ND. Pearl participated in one of the first girls’ basketball teams in that region and graduated Valedictorian of her graduating class.
Pearl qualified as a grade school teacher without a degree, passing above board on the North Dakota Teacher’s Exam and went on to teach at a one-room schoolhouse in North Dakota.
She married Marvin Wahl and relocated from Denhoff to Bismarck. Pearl retired from the State of North Dakota after many years of service.
Pearl had a love of and was a grower of African violets, a great lover of cats, and a quilter.
Pearl is survived by her son-in-law, Eugene Fisher; her granddaughter, Sarah Fisher; and her siblings, Lila Gast, Willis (Sharon) Schacher, and Silvia Schadler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; her daughter, Juanita; her son, Tim; and her grandson, Jason.
