Gayle was born on November 7, 1946, to Arthur and Joyce (Tellenga) Bauer in Bismarck, ND, where she was raised and graduated from Bismarck High School in 1964.
Gayle was united in marriage to Richard R. Goetz on June 19, 1965. Together they operated The Kirby Company of Bismarck for many years. She was dedicated to helping her children, family, and husband.
Gayle loved the outdoors, and some of her favorite hobbies were hunting and fishing with her family. She loved flower gardening and took special pride in her roses. She was an avid golfer winning the Women’s Club Championship at Apple Creek Country Club five times and recorded five holes-in-one in her lifetime. She was very much a “handy woman” and could tackle any job thrown at her from fixing a car to installing flooring. Her family and close friends meant the world to her and she would do anything for them. She also loved going to Little Cottage every morning to visit with her friends. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Gayle is survived by her husband, Richard “Dick”; her two sons, Richard “Rick” (Kara), Eagan, MN, and Stephen, Portland, OR; one daughter, Christine, Bismarck; three grandchildren, Julia Goetz, James Goetz, and Stephen Goetz II; two step-grandchildren, Alisha Isaacson (Chris), Cheyenne, WY, and Ashleigh Schlueter (Paul), Buffalo Lake, MN; her three step-great-grandchildren, Luke, John, and Samuel; her brother, Charles “Chuck” Bauer (Joan), Lake Audubon, ND, and his children, Michael (Kim) Bauer, New York City, NY, and Jennifer (Todd) Seibel, Beulah, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister-in-law, Shirley.
