Diane (Babe) Netterville, 66, passed away March 22, 2016, at her residence in Fort Yates, ND.
The funeral services will be held at 10am Tuesday, March 29th at St. Peters Church in Fort Yates.
Services will be officiated by Father John Paul Gardner. Viewing will be Monday, March 28th at 6pm followed by a Rosary at 7pm.
Diane is survived by her brothers Sam “SJ” Netterville, Matt “Jr.” Netterville, Claude Netterville and Dwight Archambault. Her sister Claudia (Cliff) Hoyt. Her children and grandchildren Gary Marshall –Ethan and Bethany Marshall. LuAnn Poitra – Gabrielle Young Bird. James (Jeanette) Condon, Terry Condon, Lawrence Archambault and Scott Davis. Diane was a natural care-taker type person and claimed many others as her own as well. She had many nieces and nephews whom she loved.
From a young age she took care of her younger siblings, as she became older she also cared for friends and close relatives as well as always looking after her loving aunts. Over the years she has met and helped even more people through her job. She was a great advocate for others and was never afraid to stand up for people who were wronged in any way. She will always be remembered for her wit, sense of humor, compassion and stories. To her kids and grandchildren there was never a problem that she couldn’t fix.
Diane graduated from high school and then received her Associates Degree. From being a Criminal Investigator Assistant, Prison Guard, Court Clerk, Roofing, Loan Officer and Hotel Supervisor, she was known as a “Jack of All Trades” when it came to work. She finished her life as Resident Service and Book-Keeper at SRST Housing.
Diane had many hobbies. She loved to travel and she lived in many places including South Dakota, New Mexico, California, Nevada and Utah. She welcomed road trips and liked to load up the kids and drive. Sewing was also a favorite past time of hers, she made star quilts until arthritis got to her hands. She also enjoyed making delicious fudge. Planning and making the family dinners was her real specialty. Gambling became one of her favorite forms of entertainment. She often liked to travel to different casinos where she found happiness in visiting numerous family members. Most of all, she really loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her mother Marcella Netterville, her brothers Gary “Ned” Netterville and Duane “Tinnie” Netterville.
