Mark Steven Weixel, 61, of Sammamish, WA, passed away on March 25, 2016, at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle, WA.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, April 1, at Century Baptist Church, 205 Colt Ave., Bismarck, with Rev. Paul Herr officiating.
Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Thursday, March 31, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.
Mark was born May 7, 1954 in Jamestown, ND. He grew up on the family farm. He received his education at Jud Public and Montpelier Public.
He graduated from the University of Colorado with a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He also graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Washington State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
Mark worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Westinghouse Electric in Baltimore, MD, Hewlett-Packard in Roseville, CA, Hewlett-Packard in Vancouver, WA and his last job was at Boeing in Seattle, WA. He had multiple patents and disclosures.
He was an Assistant Scout Master with the Boy Scouts. He enjoyed camping, hiking and gardening.
Mark attended Eastridge Church in Issaquah, WA. He had great faith and great love for his family and friends. He will always be in our hearts and dearly missed by all who knew him.
Surving are his wife, Karen, Sammamish, WA, son John, brothers Gene Weixel, Lisbon, ND, Robert (Linda) Weixel, Bismarck, ND, Richard (Glenna) Weixel, Portland, OR, and sisters Althea (Bob) Booher, Narwal Punda Gorda, FL, Carol (Paul) Cuddihy, Viena, VA, Mary (LaVern) Radtke, Fargo, ND and Maryette Ost, Jamestown, ND.
Preceded in death by his parents Robert Weixel, Sr. and Malida and step-mother Frieda.
