Edward “Ed” Sather, 70, Bismarck, died March 29, 2016, at Sanford Health, Bismarck.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, April 5, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with Rev. Steve Sathre officiating.
Burial will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday, April 5, at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Family will be greeting visitors from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Monday, April 4, at Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck.
Ed was born on August 7, 1945, in Pocatello, ID, the son of Melvin and Iris Sather. He graduated from Bismarck High School in 1963. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and served until being honorably discharged. He went on to graduate from UND. Ed joined the Bank of North Dakota in 1972, and served under the direction of four BND presidents and numerous Industrial Commissions. After 38 years Ed retired from the BND as Senior Vice President of Treasury Services.
Ed loved golfing, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Ed is survived by Georgia Raulston, his partner in life and love for over 30 years; his son, Jason (Holly) Johnson, Jack, Ava, and Liam, Bismarck; Todd (Chris) Raulston, Bismarck, Brent (Mindy) Raulston, Chase, Mya, and Scarlett, Bismarck, Seth (Tiffany) Raulston, Ansley, Marley, Hartley, Daxley, Huxley, Windsor, CO; his sister, DeeAnn (Paul) Kleinman, Midvale, UT; his brother, Richard Sather, Inman, SC; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; one brother; and one nephew.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Dakota Junior Golf Association or the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (MSAA).
