Arthur Rebenitsch, 87, Mandan, died April 1, 2016, at CHI St. Alexius Health, Bismarck.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am Friday, April 8, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place.
Burial will be held at 1:00 pm Friday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Arthur James Rebenitsch was born August 9, 1928, in Mandan, ND, the son of Paul and Mary (Ehreth) Rebenitsch. He graduated from Mandan High School in 1946 and served in the Army during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1952 as an US Army Staff Sergeant. Arthur married Dorothy Louise Birrenkott in Bismarck on July 9, 1951, and to this union five daughters were born. Arthur worked for Standard Oil Co., A & W Restaurant, Industrial Contractors, and Mandan Beverage.
He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and American Legion. Arthur enjoyed woodworking, especially making toys for his grandchildren, gardening, electric trains, and even built his own house. He traveled to Kansas City, Seattle, and Minneapolis, fished and camped in Flin Flon, Manitoba, and enjoyed the warm weather in Jamaica, Acapulco, and Hawaii.
Arthur is survived by his daughters, Meredith (Lynn) Reynolds, Michelle Rebenitsch, Jennifer (Randi) Borth, Colette (Steven) Bosch, and Joanna (Mark) Fischer; his grandchildren, William (Cindy) Reynolds, Alex (Mckenzie) Reynolds, Kim Reynolds, Alexis Borth, Michael (Ingrid Monson) Clooten, Chad (Cassondra) Clooten, Whittlee (Cole) LaMontagne, and Taylor (Scott) Van Dyke; seven great-grandchildren; and his brother, Harold (Jeanne) Rebenitsch.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; his parents, Paul and Mary; and his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Arlene Rebenitsch.
