Marie Benjamin, 65, Bismarck, passed away April 2, 2016, at her home, surrounded by those entrusted in her care. Visitation will be held at 9:30am on Wednesday, April 6th, with a funeral service to follow at 10:30am, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2303 East Divide Ave, Bismarck. Following the service, burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bismarck. Following the graveside service, refreshments and fellowship to be held 1517 South Washington, Bismarck. Marie was born on August 12, 1950, the daughter of Gladys Owns Medicine and Virgil Benjamin. Marie moved to a group home in Mandan in 2000 after living her with family all her life, where she received residential and vocational programs provided by HIT Inc. Marie moved to Bismarck in 2002. Marie was a very happy and content with her life. She had a big heart, and enjoyed spending time with close friends. Marie loved enjoying a good cup of coffee, sitting outside, spending time with her friends, drawing, working on puzzles, “singing”, and anything relating to trains. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; Gladys and Virgil, brother Merlin Virgil Benjamin, and aunts and uncles.
