Vivian Grace (Dirkach) Buck, 74, Bismarck, passed away at home under hospice care on April 6, 2016.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, at Evangel Assembly of God Church, 3225 North 14th St., Bismarck, with the Rev. Morris Conklin officiating.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday, April 11, at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck.
Vivian was born September 13, 1941, to George and Katie (Franchuk) Dirkach. After graduating from Killdeer High School she moved to Bismarck and attended Bismarck Junior College. She worked for the State of North Dakota / Worker's Compensation Bureau, now WSI, for 41 years retiring in 2003.
In 1962 she married Duane Buck and together they raised two daughters in Bismarck.
Vivian enjoyed gardening and traveling, especially trips made to Minnesota to visit her daughters and grandchildren. She also enjoyed meeting her friends for coffee.
Vivian is survived by her husband, Duane; her daughters Vickie (Dan) Selness, Cologne, MN; Jenell (Troy) Halverson, Minnesota; her grandchildren Austin Selness, Alexa Selness, and Aubriana Selness; Tyler Nallick and Chase Nallick; Nick Halverson and Ashley Halverson; her sisters Violet (Dennis) Zinke, Peoria, AZ; Evelyn Miller, Dickinson, ND; and Shirley (Lon) Roemmich, Bismarck ND; her brother-in-law, Alwin Bertsch, Bismarck, ND and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Marlys Bertsch.
Vivian always had a warm smile for everyone even during her hard fought battle with cancer. Mom, we will miss that smile and the twinkle in your eye.
Her family extends their appreciation for the wonderful care she received while at Sanford Medical Center from the doctors and staff on the seventh floor including the nurses and CNA's who surprised Vivian and her husband with a bouquet of roses in early recognition of their 54th wedding anniversary.
