Nation "Mary" End of Horn

Nation “Mary” End of Horn, “Red Cane Woman” “Sakya’lutawin –All Nations Woman-O’yate tawinya” 36, Fort Yates, ND, died April 14, 2016. Services will be held at 10:30 am Friday, April 22, at AJ Agard Community Center, Fort Yates. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm Thursday, April 21, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E Divide Ave., Bismarck. A wake service will begin at 6:00 pm Thursday, April 21, at the AJ Agard Community Center, Fort Yates. Nation was born July 12, 1979, to Lovene Red Stone and Lynes End of Horn in Fort Yates, ND, and grew up in Wakpala, SD. She attended boarding school at Pierre Indian School and Flandreux Indian School where she graduated in 1998. She then attended Sitting Bull College, and United Tribes Technical College. Nation worked as a preschool teacher at SRST Head Start program. She was also employed at Solen School as a teacher where she received a para-professional certificate from Sitting Bull College, and worked at Prairie Knights Casino as a switch board operator. In 2006 she met her soul mate/love of her life, Glen Todd Fox. Nation loved pow wows, and they traveled to many throughout Indian country. She met many people, and always had a smile and greeted people with a hug or handshake. Nation had a very outgoing personality, she will be missed dearly. Nation was very young when she started fancy shawl as a child and throughout her teen years. As she got older she was always about her traditional ways and enjoyed going to pow-wow’s and dancing. She started women’s traditional for many years. She made most all her outfits and was very creative and unique with her own style. She also made outfits for her family and was always encouraging her brother Tyson to keep dancing and singing. Nation was very proud of her brother Tyson and nephew, Tahsean “Chubbz”. She made many items for numerous people for their outfits. She was always trying to help others when they needed it. She always had a smile on her face and always in good spirits saying hi to all she knew. She had a great sense of humor, laughing with you or laughing at crazy things she may have seen or did throughout her day. Nation was the nicest, sweetest sister, daughter, aunt, grandma, cousin, friend, a one-of-a-kind, thoughtful person, we’re all going to miss her so much. Nation was the happiest when she was with her true love/sweetheart, Todd Fox. Her heart was filled with love and they were never away from each other, always together, enjoying every minute. Todd made her the happiest person. She loved him so much and cared dearly for her family. She was very thoughtful and always had good words, positive feelings, and helped the best she could. Nation is survived by her parents, Lynus End of Horn, Wakpala, SD, and Lovene Red Stone, Fort Yates, ND; her sisters, Challis Condon, Chenille Condon, both of Fort Yates, Grace Horn, Sisseton, SD, and Pamela End of Horn, Pineridge, SD; her brothers, Stoney End of Horn, IL, Tyson (MacKenzie) Red Stone, Fort Yates, and Eockpi Weasel, Little Eagle, SD; nieces and nephews, Scout WhiteBull, Keegan White Bull, LaDainian White Bull, Steven Gates, Logan Gates, Tahsean Red Stone, all of Fort Yates, Pierce End of Horn, FL, Ariana Gates, Hailey Gates, Fort Yates, Emira Two Shields, Nation Sky Red Stone, Fort Yates; grandchildren, Blake White Bull, Fort Yates, Aubrey White Bull, Bismarck, Troyal Thumb Jr., Yanabah Fox, Aspen Thumb, Lathan Grey Water, Fort Yates; cousins, Kelly, Theresa, Tudi Mellette, Kevin, Robert, Chad, Joe, Jubel Mellette, Luella, Robert, Austin, Bethany, Boyd End of Horn, Sheldon Treetop all of Wakpala, SD. Nation raised Tyrell Painte; stepchildren, Alissa, Shanna Grey Water, Vincent Fox (Amy Jackson), Fort Yates, ND, Mayan Fox, OK, Larissa Fox, CA, and Lexy, her dog that she loved very much. Her grandmothers, Rita Loon (Gerry Vaulters), Diane (Robert) Gates, Arlene Hodgekiss all of Fort Yates, ND. We are sorry if we missed any other relatives, it wasn’t intentional. We all love our sister, mother, aunt, and best friend so very much. We will see you again sister. Nation was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Abraham End of Horn and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Red Stone; uncles Mervel and Robert End of Horn; aunt and uncle, Ben and Salina Mellette, and Alwin and Almeda Red Stone; her cousin, Jacelyn Running Bear.
