Ida Hecker, 95, Bismarck, formerly of Belfield, passed away April 25, 2016.
Services will be held at 10:30 am MT Monday, May 2, 2016, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Belfield, with Rev. William Ruelle officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be held at St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Belfield.
Ida was born May 13, 1920, in Dickinson, ND, to Christ and Johanna (Beechman) Luykx, Dutch immigrants from Holland. She grew up near South Heart and attended school at Zenith and Dickinson.
On November 1, 1939, she and Louie Hecker were married, and the couple lived on their farm/ranch north of Belfield, in Billings County. After Louie passed away on September 24, 1983, Ida moved to Dickinson and then to Bismarck to be closer to her family.
Ida is survived by her four daughters, Johanna “Joan” (Armin) Lennick, Bismarck, Mary Catherine “Kaye” (Myran) Burian, Manning, Pamela Marsh, Harvey, and Laure (Terry) Friesz, Bismarck. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Kari, Alfred, Preston, Paige, Harden, Nicole, David, and Jessica, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Ida was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers, John (Jackie) Luykx, and Joseph (Mary) Luykx; and her infant daughter, Mary.
