Florine Wetzel, 91, passed from this life May 17, 2016, surrounded by her family and best friend.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, May 20, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with Rev. Valerie Kinlan officiating.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Thursday, May 19, at Parkway Funeral Service, and will continue one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be held at 3:00 pm Friday at the Tuttle Cemetery.
Florine was born on the family farm in 1925 to Hans and Anna Hanson of Robinson, ND. Florine received her education in a country school nearby home as well as one year at Robinson High School. She married David Aichele in 1943. To this union came two sons, Roddy and Jerome. David passed away in 1965. Florine and Herman Wetzel were married in 1967. They lived on a farm in Tuttle until Herman’s death in 1978. Shortly after Herman’s death, she moved into Tuttle and worked for the Tuttle Night Club approximately four years. Florine moved to Bismarck to be closer to her children and where she resided until her death. She still was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church of Robinson.
Florine is survived by her two sons, Roddy (Letha) Aichele, Bismarck, and Jerome Aichele, Bismarck; her best friend, Leonard Fritz, Bismarck; five grandchildren, David (Heidi) Aichele, Bismarck, Tammy Johnson, Sioux Falls, SD, Kristen Aichele, Watertown, SD, Miracle Aichele, Bismarck, and Charity (JameSon) Hallof, Omaha, NE; five great-grandchildren, Joshua, Emily, Shantel, Kylie and Ethan; and one great-great grandchild, Lium.
Florine was preceded in death by her parents; and her two husbands, David and Herman; her siblings, Elida Russell, Ernest Hanson, Tilda Nelson, Hilma Summers, Roy Hanson, and Judith Trautmann.
91 years of life well-lived. We, her family, will truly miss her “quick wit” and that curious smile that made one wonder “what is she thinking” only to give it a few minutes and she’d tell you what she was thinking.?
