Reuben Schoepp, 84, Bismarck, died May 26, 2016, at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.
Services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at First Baptist Church, 306 E Divide Ave., Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm Tuesday, May 31, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E Divide Ave., Bismarck.
Burial will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, June 1, at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Reuben was born February 23, 1932, the son of Gottleib and Bertha Schoepp. He grew up on the family farm near Hazelton, ND, until 1946 when the family moved to Bismarck. When Reuben was 17 he entered the US Army and served in Korea during the war. During the Berlin Crisis, Reuben was called back to the Army and served in Kansas for a year.
Following his honorable discharge, he married Anna Margaret Schell in Bismarck on November 28, 1952. The couple made their home in Bismarck and Reuben was employed with the State Highway Department, prior to attending Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Technical School in West Virginia. Upon his return from school he was employed with Braaten Appliance and Refrigeration. Reuben opened his own business, Schoepp Refrigeration in 1965, which he owned and operated until 1992.
From 1992-1997, he worked for MidDakota Clinic. Reuben was a 50-year member of First Baptist Church and serviced in many capacities for the church. He was an active lifetime member of the Eagles, Elks, and VFW, and served the VFW in many different capacities. He loved to fish, loved horses, and attending livestock auctions. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed attending his grandson, Jaramie’s, hockey games.
Reuben is survived by his wife, Ann, Bismarck; his sons, DuWayne (Kimberly), Bismarck, and Darryle (Clare), Ardmore, PA; his grandchildren, Jaramie (Jennifer) Schoepp, West Fargo, Jennifer (Jeremy) Peters, Celebration, FL, Christopher Schoepp, Kissimmee, FL, Joseph Schoepp, Ardmore, PA, and Anna Schoepp, Ardmore, PA; and his great-grandchildren, Madison, Dylan, and Tanner Schoepp, all of West Fargo, and Isabella and Liliana Peters, Celebration, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his three sisters, Viola, Violet, and Esther; and his brother, Herbert.
