LaVonne Janine Tank

LaVonne Janine Nelson Tank, 60, Bismarck, ND, passed away June 6, 2016, at CHI St. Alexius Health. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 AM at Parkway Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will be at the ND Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, and will continue on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. LaVonne was born on February 18, 1956, in Bismarck, ND, the daughter of William and Phyllis Nelson. She obtained her nursing degree in 1976 from NDSCS in Wahpeton. She then worked as a LPN at St. Alexius in Bismarck and also in Breckenridge, MN. She married Randal Tank on June 6, 1981, in Bismarck. LaVonne loved working with plants in the last few years, especially orchids. She was active in the Blind Group YVIP and coordinated monthly events. LaVonne is survived by her husband of 35 years, Randy of Bismarck; her mother, Phyllis of Bismarck; and her brothers, Larry (Karen) of Bismarck and Dean (Lauri) of Moorhead, MN; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, William.
