John Valentine Jacob Jr., 66, Bismarck, died June 16, 2016. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, June 21, at Church of St. Mary, 806 East Broadway Ave., Bismarck, with Rev. Msgr. Gene Lindemann officiating. Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Monday, June 20, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Ave., Bismarck, where a rosary/vigil service will begin at 7:00 pm. John was born October 1, 1950, to John and Cecilia (Vogel) Jacob. He lived in Elgin until 1959, Woodworth until 1965, Regan until 1968, Sterling, where he worked for Patterson Land Co. and until 1973, and later in Bismarck where he worked construction for years. John liked hunting, fishing, gardening and cooking. John is survived by one sister, Rosemary (Jim) O’Neill, Woodworth, ND; his brothers, Frank (Shirley) Jacob, Michael Jacob, and Daniel (Jeanene) Jacob, all of Bismarck, and Thomas (Gloria) Jacob, Denver, CO; and nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, John; his mother, Cecilia; brother Peter and infant brother, Joseph; and infant sister, Mary.
