Jason Martis, 39, Lincoln, after a long struggle with cancer went to be with the Lord on June 22, 2016.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 27, at Zion Lutheran, 413 E Ave D, Bismarck, with Rev. Thomas R. Marcis Jr. officiating.
A family and friends service will be held at 7:00 pm on Sunday, June 26, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. There will be a visitation for the public prior to the service from 6:00pm to 7:00pm Sunday at Parkway Funeral Service.
Jason was born on August 24, 1976, in Mt. Clemens, MI, to Rev. Alvia and Joyce (Schutt) Martis. He graduated from New Rockford High School in 1995, where he met his wife, Michelle (Ivesdal) Martis. They were married in Carrington, ND, on August 17, 1996, and their journey of life together began. They were blessed with two children, Yurick and Daprie. Jason and his family are members of Zion Lutheran Church.
He worked for the city of Bismarck as a maintenance technician III. Jason had many hobbies and interest which included hunting, fishing, camping and oil painting but most of all the wonderful sport of roller derby. He was a member of the BisMan Bomberz for almost 4 years. Jason had always been an important member of the roller derby community and teaching people how to skate was one of his favorite things. He was a loving husband and father and will be missed by all.
