Just as in life, Kim Nagel, 50, Bismarck, left the Earth as a fighter. She said her goodbyes and departed us on June 28th after she gave all that she could give.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 10, at Legacy United Methodist Church, 4600 Durango Dr., Bismarck, with the Rev. Walter Schott officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Cremation has taken place.
Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.
Born in Bismarck to James and Ruth Roth, Kim grew up willful, feisty, and unafraid to speak her mind. Whereas these traits may have landed her in trouble a time or two, they also served her well as an advocate for her students during her tenure as a special education teacher at Mandan High School and as a proud and protective mother. Although she was not unaccustomed to conflict, her indomitable spirit was an endearing quality to those that knew her.
Kim will always be remembered as being bold and spunky, but the lasting impression she leaves with us is her strong connection to family. Whether it was long conversations with her aunt and cousins, trips to Park Rapids with her mother, or caring for her father in the waning days of his life, Kim always wanted to be close to her family. The absence of her unique personality in our family will be sorrowfully lamented.
Kim is survived by her mother, Ruth; her son, Jesse (Shelly) Tran; her brother, Scott (Darla) Roth; two nieces, Kayla and Megan Roth; and many loving extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her father, James J. Roth.
