William "Bill" E Lynde

William E. “Bill” Lynde, 89, Bismarck, passed away July 14, 2016. In lieu of a funeral service, there will be a time of gathering with family and friends on Monday, July 18, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E Divide Ave, Bismarck. Cremation has taken place and burial will be held at the Pingree Cemetery, Pingree, ND. William was born on May 18, 1927, in Jamestown, ND, to John and Mildred (Dopking) Lynde. William was enlisted in the US Navy and served in World War II. William married Nancy Gray on June 8, 1949, in Jamestown, ND. Together they raised their five children. Bill worked for the Northern Pacific/Burlington Northern Railroad for 44 years and was a great provider for his family. William is survived by his children, Susan Halvorson, IN, Gary (Carol) Lynde, Garden Valley, ID, Steve (Jo) Lynde, Bismarck, Gregg (Julie) Lynde, Boise, ID, and Michael Lynde, Bismarck; his loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one sister, Veryl Durfey, CA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy.
